Live NS2

Live NS2The Network Simulator is a “discrete event simulator targeted at networking research. NS provides substantial support for simulation of TCP, routing, and multicast protocols over wired and wireless (local and satellite) networks.” It is designed for UNIX-based operating systems, although it can run on Microsoft Windows through Cygwin.

Although it is fairly easy to install NS-2 on a UNIX-based system, I made this Live CD so that anyone can try and use NS-2 without you need to have a UNIX-like operating system installed. It is based on Slax, offers a KDE desktop environment along with a small set of applications.

Live NS2 is based on Slax. so most, if not all, of that applies to Slax applies here.

      Hi Amr…

In my masters I wanted to simulate a network. I remembered that ns-2. I was hoping to have a linux live CD containing ns-2. I found it exactly here.

So I just wanted to say thanks :-)
